Skiing & Snowboarding

Isola 2000 has a great snow record and last year received more than 12m of snow! There are pistes to suit all levels of skier / snowboarder.

There are two main valleys for skiing / snowboarding; Chastillon and St Sauveur. The Front de Neige opposite the main resort building is excellent for beginners.

There is a ski / snowboard school (Ecole de Ski Francais) in the main resort building, you can book group or private lessons, and there are English speaking instructors. There are also several independent ski instructors, we would recommend Jean Germain. who is very friendly and speaks English.

There are 42 pistes; 7 green, 21 blue, 11 red and 3 black, served by 20 lifts; 2 telecabines, 7 chairlifts, 10 Poma / drag lifts, and one funicular. For the 2009-2010 season Isola 2000 is constructing a new high speed 6-person chairlift in the St Sauveur domain to replace two rather slow lifts. Ski Passes

You can either buy a lift pass for just the Isola 2000 ski area or you can purchase one which covers both the Isola 2000 and Auron ski areas.

Passes can be bought from the office in the Front de Neige building after 4pm the day before you intend to ski or on the morning you intend skiing.

Alternatively you can buy your lift passes online and collect them in resort. There are usually considerable discounts if you do purchase online; the discount passes are usually available to buy on a Tuesday but the Isola 2000 website is currently offfering discounts of 20% off lift passes to be used in January and March 2010 - they must be purchased before the 19th December 2009 (for January) and 15th February 2010 (for March).

You can hire your skis online at www.skiset.co.uk for a considerable discount.

Morisset 3 is ideally located near the chalets, but if you want to leave your skis and boots in the Front de Neige, Morisset 1 would be the best shop to choose.
